JOB SUMMARY
-
Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the social services department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the TCC facility and as directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or experience: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. Experience with social services in long term care facility preferred.

Knowledge: Must have knowledge of Social Services practices and procedures as well as Medicare and Medicaid laws and regulations. Must possess the knowledge to plan, organize and interpret the policies and procedures that is necessary to provide quality care.

Skills: Requires knowledge of standard PC word processing and spreadsheet software. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be able to handle residents, staff, visitors and the general public based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

Abilities: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the facility. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
