Job Summary

Under the supervision of the program administrator and the direction of a specific certificated staff member, the Community School Instructional Aide performs the necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for at-risk youth in classrooms, and performs a variety of supportive tasks to facilitate learning activities and life skill development. Oakendell Community School serves as a residential school for male students grades six through twelve who are wards of the court and/or the State Social Welfare Department. The young men come from various parts of the state and live on-site at the Oakendell Community Home. The curriculum is individualized with a weekly contract being the means of monitoring and assessing student progress.
