STREETS AND PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER I
(TEMPORARY, VARIABLE HOUR).
$15.77/hour. Recruitment is open for temporary, variable hour Streets and Parks Maintenance Workers in the City of Atwater’s Public Works Department, Streets and Parks Division. Under supervision, to perform a variety of unskilled physical labor and semiskilled maintenance, repair, construction, and clean up of City streets, street trees and parks, and recreational facilities; to maintain streets and street trees; and to do related work as required. Serves as Disaster Service Worker. FLSA Status: Non-exempt. Bargaining Group: Unrepresented. Incumbents in this class may be subject to twenty-four hour “call out” and standby. Minimum qualifications include but are not limited to: basic knowledge of methods, procedures, and equipment used in care and maintenance of City streets and street trees, parks, grounds, and recreation facilities; safe driving practices and the California Vehicle Code relating to the operation of motor vehicles; work safety practices; ability to operate equipment such as street maintenance equipment, mowers, weed eaters, trucks, backhoe, front loaders, and ball field equipment; and the ability to perform heavy physical labor. Equivalent to graduation from high school. One (1) year of work experience in streets and grounds maintenance work or general maintenance.
