SEWER MAINTENANCE WORKER I: $17.69 - $22.58/hr. Recruitment is open for a
regular, full time Sewer Maintenance Worker I in the City of Atwater’s Public Works
Department, Sewer Division. Under general supervision, to perform maintenance,
operations, and repair work on the City’s sewer and storm collection and distribution
systems including motors, pumps, sewer lift stations, sewer lines and sewer mains, meters,
and other equipment; to perform a variety of operations, monitoring, maintenance, and
repair work on pumps, sewer lift stations, and associated equipment; and to do related
work as required. Serves as Disaster Service Worker. FLSA Status: Non-exempt.
Bargaining Group: Miscellaneous Unit. Incumbents in this class are subject to twenty-four
hour “call out” and standby.
Minimum qualifications include but are not limited to: Equivalent to graduation from high
school. One (1) year of increasingly responsible work experience in operation, monitoring,
testing, maintenance, repair, and construction work; or possession of a certificate of
completion in the operation and maintenance of wastewater collection systems issued by
the California State University Sacramento may be substituted for six (6) months of the
required experience. Possession of a valid California Commercial Class “B” driver’s
license with appropriate endorsements. Possession of a certificate of completion in the
operation and maintenance of wastewater collection systems issued by California State
University Sacramento; and possession of certifications or licenses to meet federal or state
