Code Compliance Officer, Parks & Public Works Positions
Code Compliance Officer
Responsible for the enforcement of the Fruita Land Use Code and other City of Fruita Municipal Codes pertaining to land use, neighborhood and community nuisances such as but not limited to: junk vehicles, weeds, tires trash, etc. Also assists in land development reviews, front counter operations, and other community development functions. Duties include, but are not limited, to proactively responds to code enforcement violations by known complainants, anonymous or seen visually by the Code Compliance Officer. Assists staff and the public in Code interpretation and the review of land development applications for compliance with Code requirements including initial reviews, final plat reviews, release of improvements agreements, and certificates of occupancy; manages special projects as assigned such as census activities, website updates, and GIS database information; and assists front counter operations and may issue Planning Clearances for houses, fences, signs, etc.
Minimum requirements for the position include High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate and must be 18 years of age or older. Some college or an Associate's Degree in the related field of Law Enforcement preferred; or the related field of planning, architecture, or engineering. Some law enforcement training (P.O.S.T.) and/or experience in a similar position like Code Enforcement preferred but not required. Public Works
Public Works seasonal help is needed for our Streets, Building Maintenance, Irrigation, Traffic Safety, and Sewer Collection Divisions with ideal candidates able to assist in more than one division. Positions will be expected to work forty (40) hours per week April through September 2018. All applicants must have a current Colorado Driver's License and be at least 18 years of age.
Hourly rate is $12.50 with consideration for higher compensation for workers in possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Pre-employment drug testing is required. Application deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2018.
Parks
Parks seasonal help is needed for our parks, trails and open space. Duties include but are not limited to parks maintenance, landscaping, and tree planting, including: mowing, trimming, fertilizing, pruning; irrigating, weeding, landscape maintenance, maintenance of grounds equipment; irrigation system repair and maintenance; operation of heavy equipment (i.e., backhoe, mowers); operation of hand and power tools; fabrication and welding. Positions will be expected to work forty (40) hours per week April through September 2018.
