POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Assessment to join our team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Provides analysis, summary reporting, and evidence-based recommendations for improvement based on survey outcomes, assessment outcomes, curriculum outcomes, graduation rates, programmatic satisfaction data, sufficiency of resources (e.g., faculty, staff, facilities), and programmatic effectiveness data (e.g., exam pass rates).
  • Provides specialized workshops as necessary to train faculty and staff on assessment and evaluation policies and procedures related to The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accreditation and educational statistical best practices.
  • Assesses the quality of academic assessment plans and reports to ensure they meet stated requirements and provides frequent reporting of assessment metrics. Regularly reports to oversight and accountability committees and the Institute of Knowledge Management (IKM) regarding status of ongoing evaluation processes and improvement actions.
  • Provides consultation and guidance for the institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement processes for all administrative and educational support services in the college. Maintains documentation related to data-driven continuous improvement initiatives, processes, and provides regular and annual reports on student performance in board/certification exams.
  • Provides faculty with ongoing review and feedback of exam outcomes metrics for each pre-clinical and clinical course.
  • Reviews quantitative and qualitative data from all assessment tools (i.e., data triangulation) and identify trends over time.
  • Provides written reports to the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Accreditation and Quality Assurance and Advisory Committees, summarizing significant findings, identifying year-over-year trends, and offering data-driven recommendations for improvement as needed. Additionally, monitors and reports on regional and national trends in physician assistant education.
  • Reviews and provides recommendations in the development of programmatic assessment instruments including reports and surveys. Responsible for drafting and mapping assessment tools to ARC-PA Standards of Accreditation.
  • Obtains and utilizes data from a variety of sources to help establish and assess internal and external benchmarks.
  • Actively serves as a member of the MPAS Accreditation Committee and MPAS Quality Assurance and Advisory Committee, taking responsibility for preparing assessment-related documentation and drafting narratives for ARC-PA reports as required.
  • Coordinates the process of completing annual assessment-related documentation for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and/or other reports as requested by the Office of Academic Planning and Accountability (APA).
  • Remains informed on ARC-PA Accreditation standards and policies related to assessment and evaluation.
  • Catalogs assessment data, including raw data files and self-study data templates, in SharePoint repository.
  • Participate in as-requested analysis and reporting for MPAS, PhD., and GCP initiatives, such as end-of-year reporting.
  • Participates in accreditation site visits with reporting of critical analysis and explanation of outcomes.
  • Serves as the IKM Assessment Directors back-up for as-needed data analysis, reporting of grades, and other requests.
  • Works with the IKM Assessment Director to align analysis, grading, assessment, and evaluation standards and practices with the MD program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.

SALARY

$75,000-$85,000
