Oversee the medical coding, billing and insurance reimbursement process at DeWeese Health Center. Assist in the daily operations of DeWeese Health Center. Reports to designated supervisor.
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Works closely with clinicians, mental health providers and clinic staff to assure accuracy of medical records, treatment and procedures.
Communicates with insurance providers and patients.
Reviews patient bills and corrects any missing or inaccurate information.
Utilizes billing software to prepare and transmit claims.
Manages accounts receivables.
Investigates and appeals claims that were denied.
Responds to billing questions or concerns from patients.
Prepares monthly reports of claim and collection activity.
Verifies coverage and eligibility for medical services.
Follows HIPAA compliance procedures, policies and protocols.
Manages system lists of CPT and diagnosis codes.
Manages fee schedules.
May assist with front desk duties.
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma. A minimum of three years' experience working in a medical office handling all aspects of billing, coding, insurance verification and credentialing. Knowledge and understanding of revenue cycle.
