About the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority
The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA), an agency of the State of North Carolina, is authorized by the General Assembly to plan, finance and administer student financial assistance programs of a statewide or inter-institutional nature. It serves students attending public and private two- and four-year colleges and universities in North Carolina, as well as families of students attending nonpublic K-12 schools.

About the Team
The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (SEAA) is the State agency that promotes access to education by administering financial aid and savings programs, informing students and families about paying for education, teaching educators about financial aid administration, and advocating for resources to support students. The Division of K12 Programs at SEAA administers two aid programs for kindergarten through twelfth grade students who will attend private or home schools. Together, the Opportunity Scholarship and Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Scholarship award over $200 million to approximately 40,00 students each year. Both Programs have scheduled increases for future legislative allocations and will grow significantly in the next five years. The Division manages customer service to parents of the student scholarship recipients and also provides support and oversight to over 600 K12 nonpublic schools receiving funds on behalf of students. The North Carolina nonpublic schools which accept scholarship funds on behalf of students must register with SEAA. The Division of K12 Programs monitors compliance with annual requirements, as well as with the specific additional requirements for larger schools. SEAA also provides support for the school officials on each campus who must track scholarship funds, accounting for the funds by student.
