CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE WORKER
Oakdale Irrigation District is Hiring! We are looking for one (1) full time Construction and Maintenance Worker in our Construction and Maintenance Department.
Salary: $28.24 - $34.33 per hour + comprehensive benefits package. The position will be under the general supervision of the Construction and Maintenance Manager and two Supervisors.
Duties include performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the construction, repair, cleaning, and maintenance of irrigation canals, ditches, pipelines, pump lines, and structures. Digs with a shovel; lifts, cuts, carries and ties reinforcing steel; lifts, sets and installs formwork, shoring and scaffolding. Places and finishes concrete over-pour structures, pipelines, canal linings and related irrigation and drainage works. Performs general carpentry, plumbing, painting, concrete work and performs major and minor repairs, alterations and maintenance on District facilities using various hand tools and mechanical equipment; may assist in the supervision and training of less experienced personnel; and performs other duties as assigned.
Experience: Two (2) years of general construction and maintenance experience in the construction, maintenance, repair, and cleaning of irrigation facilities preferred.
Education: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write English, and perform mathematical computations at the level required for successful job performance.
Requirements: Possession of appropriate California Driver’s License, and a good motor vehicle driving record as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents for at least two (2) years in duration. Obtain a Class “A” drivers’ license within six months of hiring.
