Quality Control Technician
QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
Location: 3509 Galvin Road, Centralia, WA 98531
Hours: Monday – Friday, Day Shift, additional days and hours as needed
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Expectation: Full-time, additional overtime as needed
Rogers Machinery Company is a leading manufacturer of industrial air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, and air systems. We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to assist with incoming component, stage gate and finished good inspections. Rogers Machinery is seeking an organized individual with an industrial electrical or mechanical background to join our team as a Quality Control Technician. In this role, you will be performing daily inspections of incoming component material and finished product. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, a quick learner, a team player, and flexible in job assignments.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Quality Control Technicians are responsible for examining incoming shipments of inventory, measuring specifications, performing finished good inspections, performing inventory transactions, and communicating to cross-functional groups. Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for inspection of incoming components using industry appropriate methods.
- Responsible for efficient performance of warehousing operations including transactions, storage, security, and accountability of materials
- Responsible for inspection of non-conformances and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Gather data for non-conformance reports and Corrective Action plans
- Confirming production adheres to standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to compare to produced goods
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing rework and inputting data into quality database
- Make use of Lean techniques to improve process flow.
- Maintaining inspection/test equipment to ensure it is safe, functional and within calibration standards
- Assist QA Leadership in physical control of non-conforming products and materials
- Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities
- Participate and support continuous improvement objectives of the departments
- Comply with safety and department procedures
- Cross training within departmental duties to provide coverage for teammates as required.
- Other duties consistent with this position as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices.
· Proficiency with standard measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measure, dial indicator, micrometer, height gauge, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical assembly drawings and specifications
- Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, Excel, Internet)
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to work with people with different skill levels
- Ability to multitask and shift tasks frequently
- Trade school or two-year degree preferred
- Quality control experience (1-2 years preferred)
