Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Staff Accountant position to join our team in Bellevue, WA. The position offers an opportunity to grow within the firm and learn a great deal about investment and financial technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the monthly close process of multiple family office entities by preparing journal entries, reports, analysis, and supporting schedules, as needed, under the direction of management.
- Reconcile and effectively resolve discrepancies across multiple platforms
- Assist in investment performance reporting
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Assist in the preparation of tax workpaper
- Perform special projects under the direction of management, and respond appropriately to requests from other company personnel
- Identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements and work with management to implement.
- Assist in developing automated accounting processes in collaboration with IT
- Apply principles of accounting and use judgment and other professional skills in determining the appropriate procedures for preparing and maintaining accounting records and reports.
- Work both independently and in a team environment.
- Concurrently perform multiple assignments and self-manage schedule to determine workflow timing and duration.
- Perform daily trade reconciliations and communicate with brokers.
- Assist in onboarding new clients and new accounts.
REQUIRED:
- Accounting software experience.
- Basic knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Detail oriented, organized, and analytical in approach to tasks.
- Ability to communicate with personnel and external contacts in a professional manner with limited supervision.
- Ability to effectively respond to requests or questions from managers and colleagues in both written and oral form.
- High degree of flexibility and customer service attitude.
- Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments.
PREFERRED:
- A firm understanding of financial systems, processes and internal controls.
- Experience working in a multiple company accounting environment.
- Experience in investment and fair market value accounting.
PREFERRED COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel and Outlook especially), Windows.
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- B.A/B.S. in accounting and 2-3 years relevant accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
