Court Planner II (Property Accounting)
The State of CT Judicial Branch is seeking to fill a Court Planner II position in Property Accounting. This position is accountable for the coordination and administration of the annual statewide inventory of assets and on-going analysis of data which backs up the Branch’s Annual Report to the Office of the State Comptroller.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising the inventory schedule, as well as conducting physical field inventories working in areas such as Court rooms, Marshal Control rooms, Juvenile Detention centers, Probation offices, Law libraries, Administrative buildings, and Network Communication rooms and centers. The individual will provide oversight of field inventory processes, including individuals involved in the inventory process, especially those charged with preparing supporting information and inventory entries. The individual will work extensively in MS Access and other MS applications, as well as Branch owned in-house systems. Duties include preparing reports for data analysis and reconciliation of physical inventory results, including communicating outstanding items with field location unit contacts or specific areas identified through the overall monitoring of inventory data and the correct application of policies and procedures regarding the control of assets. The individual will also communicate with management on the implementation and development of policies and procedures for inventory control and software packages and or systems employed for managing the annual inventory process.
Travel is required, minimally, approximately 50% of the time. The qualified candidate’s work schedule must be flexible as off- hour site visits are necessary. Performance of physical inventories may entail some movement of equipment (up to 25 lbs.) in work areas. This position will supervise other staff.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in governmental or regional planning, research and policy analysis, methods and procedures analysis, organizational analysis, or a related field.
Substitutions Allowed:
1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
2) A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Incumbents may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
