Nurse Manager – Ambulatory – Cancer Center-Hematology/Oncology
Upstate Medical University is looking for a Nurse Manager to join their dynamic team of expert professionals.
The Nurse Manager for the Cancer Center-Hematology/Oncology department assumes primary leadership and management of defined clinical nursing areas to facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care and to manage the environment in which care is given. Major functions include: goals, planning, customer service/marketing, standards, certification and accreditation, administrative management, budget/cost containment, communication, and education. Ensures adherence to hospital or department and university policies and to nursing policies, procedures, standards, and practices. The Ambulatory Nurse Manager exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.

Bachelors degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Nursing required. NYS Licensed/Registered Nurse (or eligible) required. 3 years of post-licensure acute care RN experience (preferably in specialty area) to include leadership experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) successfully completed before hire. Nursing Leadership certification strongly preferred. Other specialty based certifications for nursing leadership: i.e. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) are also encouraged and supported. Masters degree preferred.
