Under general direction, Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution systems including revenue meters and distribution transformers. Provide highly responsible and technical staff assistance.
Work with department staff to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate the construction and maintenance of the District's electrical system. Working with the Job Scheduling, Service Division, and Engineering staff, ensure that the District's commitments to customers and other departments are met. Promptly and clearly communicate job progress and resource availability information to the Line Department and other District staff as needed.
Monitor safety training so that all employees are adequately trained. Work with the department staff to develop ideas and training to keep employees informed of new advances in the industry. Administer contracts, monitor and supervise contractors hired by the District to assist in the construction and maintenance of the District’s transmission and distribution system.
Formulate, prepare and recommend for approval policies, procedures, studies and reports, in particular, those that will improve safety and/or department performance. Coordinate recruitment and training of department staff. Supervise, train and evaluate department staff. Give advice and assistance to employees. Coach and counsel employees as needed.
Education and/or Work Experience: Usually exhibited by a person with an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. Job knowledge and ability may be substituted for education. Usually exhibited by a person with five years of experience in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution, including two years in a supervisory capacity or the equivalent.
