RECREATION DIVISION MANAGER
($6,642.00 - $8,480.00 per month)
The Don Pedro Recreation Agency (DPRA) is looking for a Recreational Division Manager. This person will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and coordinating the overall activities in one of the following two areas: DPRA’s Campground Operations or Lake Operations. In all cases, supervise staff and coordinate with outside agencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, implement and monitor project operation and maintenance needs based upon previous and projected use, and inspection of facilities, equipment, project lands and Lake Surface. Manage O&M and capital budget for appropriate area of responsibility. Interact with the public at recreation sites and on the lake, including preparing correspondence, answering questions, responding to inquiries, problems and difficult complaints. Prepare and review policy and procedure proposals, both new and changes to existing. Perform investigations and reviews of accidents. Review incident reports, patrol logs and other staff produced reports for appropriate area of responsibility. Coordinate and interact with outside agencies essential to the operation of the campgrounds, Lake Surface and bordering lands, as appropriate for area of responsibility. Monitor and compile statistics as needed for planning purposes and year-end reports. Oversee scheduling, staff meetings, performance reviews, conflict resolution, discipline, safety issues and training for appropriate area of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in parks and recreation management, forestry, natural resource management, environmental planning and management, related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: Five (5) years’ experience coordinating and managing outdoor recreation activities, plus two years (2) supervisory experience.
At time of hire, physical exam, drug and alcohol screen, and background check prerequisites for employment. Must possess a valid California Driver License.
