Events Coordinator
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce seeks a full time Events Coordinator. The Events Coordinator will report to the Vice President of Events and is responsible for assisting with planning and executing all aspects of Chamber events. General responsibilities include:
- Assist with communications to vendors, speakers and sponsors;
- Create and maintain event webpages and registration portals;
- Assist with preparation of event materials such as signage, printed programs, flyers, etc.;
- Provide help desk support to all event registrants;
- Data entry of attendee information into database;
- Compiling and exporting reports from the database;
- Attend all events and handle set up, management of the registration desk, and assist attendees.
Position requirements include: experience as an event coordinator or similar role (preferred), meticulous attention to details, ability to work a flexible schedule (some overnight travel required outside of Richmond (4-5 nights/year)), access to reliable transportation, work wells independently and under pressure, possess time management skills, be proficient in using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office software products, and willingness and aptitude to learn the Chamber's membership database. Experience with WordPress is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be energetic, enjoy a diverse work day, communicate clearly and professionally, possess outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, work harmoniously and cooperatively, be able to handle a myriad of details and follow-up items, work independently and with direction, and represent the Chamber in a positive and professional manner at all times in the community. Salary will be based on experience. Associates degree or higher required.
