Boral Roofing has an exciting opportunity to join our Lathrop CA plant! We are looking for an experience maintenance mechanic to join our team and help us move forward!
POSITION SCOPE:
Under the limited supervision of the Maintenance Manager, repairs and maintains the assigned machinery and mechanical equipment ensuring at all times that the company safety rules are followed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES - Placing the upmost importance on working safely and maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others at all times:
- Performs preventive maintenance operations on machinery according to schedules.
- Installs, rebuilds and repairs a wide variety of machines as directed by the Maintenance Manager/supervisor
- Services and maintains a limited range of building and production equipment following procedures.
- Analyzes, detects, and determines the nature of the problem and provides input as to the extent of the repairs required. Troubleshoots to and selects materials needed for the repairs.
- Able to trouble shoot electrically up to 480 volts
- Notifies Maintenance Manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken.
- Assembles, replaces or refits parts as warranted.
- Tear down and rebuild presses as needed to repair dies
- Assists with building repairs.
- Replace and refit parts.
- Instructs and provides technical assistance to lower level mechanics as required.
- Follow and enforces company safety policies and procedures among the maintenance mechanics at all times.
- All other duties as requested or assigned
JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education
Associates Degree and/or post-high school technical training highly desired, or equivalent experience
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures.
- Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, drill press, and other related industrial repair equipment.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanish helpful)
- Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision
- Math skills and computer skills
- Industrial electrical skills preferred
Work Experience
4+ years of related experience required - in a manufacturing environment preferred
3 years tearing down and rebuilding presses
3 + Exp with tooling and dies
Licenses or Certificates
Certified Maintenance Technician certification highly desirable or in progress with work equivalent experience
Journeyman highly preferred

- Climb and work occasionally at heights

- May require overtime work as necessary
- Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled
- Ability to stoop, bend, walk, stand, sit, reach and climb.
- Will be expected to conduct all assigned tasks scheduled by supervisor.
